I was hoping to get some help on the best way to deskew a scanned image and get rid of the black background on the edges.

The attached file shows my skewed image. I can usually get the text deskewed just fine but is there anyway I can get rid of the black background on the edges as I deskew?

Hi

Is it always in a consistent position (i.e. at the bottom)? You could easily write a routine to check for black at the bottom-left and bottom-right positions. See how far up it extends and then crop the image.

Try also AutoCrop and AutoCrop2:
