When I set:

ImageEnView1.BorderStyle := bsSingle;

... then I get a 1-pixel black-color border:

How can I get a thicker red-color border?

In v8.3.0, you can just set the layer[0] border (Layer 0 is the background image).

ImageEnView1.CurrentLayer.BorderColor := clRed;
ImageEnView1.CurrentLayer.BorderWidth := 10;
