I've seen how ioJPEG_AUTOCALC will speed up loading a TImageEnView, but how do you get the same performance on a TImageEnFolderMView? I'm running into the same situation where Picassa loads like lightning, but I don't seem to have the correct parameters to get the same speed out of ImageEn.

If you do not need full size images you can just load the image as a thumbnail which will be much faster...

Hi

TImageEnFolderMView defaults to StoreType of ietFastThumb, which means it already takes into account ioJPEG_AUTOCALC and other speed enhancements.

A separate option is EnableLoadEXIFThumbnails, which is very fast for digital camera images, though that should already be enabled.

If Picasa is loading the same set of images significantly faster than ImageEn then they have probably cached thumbnails on disk. We will be investigating a persistent disk cache for the next update.

Another thing you can try is using Windows Explorer's thumbnails for images:
