Is it possible to grab a RTSP video stream ?

Unfortunately RTSP video streaming is not supported.

I know this is an old question but therefore I wonder if it is planned in a future version to consider RTSP Video Streaming?
I am just working on a an "Surveillance IP Camera" interface which would need it. I could imagine that this feature might be interesting for others too?
So might it be planned or considered in future or should I look to get an other (additional) component?
