Hi All,

is there a practical way to remove background in the way that clippingmagic.com does?

I'm having my customers to use magic wand or auto transparency but edges are not soft at all.

What I'd like to implement is a similar way to include / exclude areas like the below sample (this we can do easily), so that we can isolate the background and soften what edges automatically (help appreciated here).

Thanks for your response.

Best Regards.

Hi

Have you tried the ChromaKey demo at:

http://www.imageen.com/demos/

Though ChromaKey is color based removal (think: Green Screen) whereas this looks to be a kind of edge detection, so you might want to try the edge detection functionality.

@rij73,

I think integrating Gmic (http://gmic.eu/) will allow you to achieve what you want.

But unfortuantely Gmic is originally developed in C++ :(

Nice online application.

According to it's interactive model (using outside/inside strokes), it's probably based either on graph-cut or grow-cut algorithm.
