In addition to the "Latest installer fails" post:
I've continued testing the latest version and found that I cannot load PNG images anymore. To reproduce, run the PhotoEn2 demo and try to open a PNG image. The canvas stays empty.

I'm sorry, no problems here. I tested ImageEn 4.1 with Delphi 2010: loading of PNG is ok.
Maybe you have an old ie.inc file installed. Inside "Delphi 2010 or C++Builder 2010" section, it must NOT be present "IEUSEVCLZLIB" define. |

I completely wiped the old version from my hard drive before I started the installer, so there was no old ie.inc around anymore. I just checked the new one and the define IEUSEVCLZLIB is only present in the XE2 section. Since I'm running D2010, that should be irrelevant.
Anyway, I will start from scratch one more time and report back if I find something.
Thanks, Ulrich, for confirming my problem. I already thought I am the only one... . Looks as if this issue has to do with a faulty installation (please see my other post again for details), or even a screwed up IFDEF somewhere in the ImageEN code. I just saw in the announcement about the 64bit beta version that PNG is not supported yet, so maybe that is the culprit.

I too just noticed the PNG problem with the latest update! When I recompile any of my previous programs (or any new ones) using ImageEn, if I load a PNG file it just open an empty image. This is really frustrating as it was working fine with the previous version! I haven't been able to fix this issue yet, so any further tips or fixes would be appreciated.
I also noticed the missing paths in the program install, but I added those manually anyway so I got it to install OK and thought it was working fine, until today when I realised the PNG wasn't loading.
I am using Delphi 2010 and the latest version of ImageEn. Oh, and I made sure that I uninstalled the previous version of ImageEn and removed all the old files and paths, before I installed the new one. |

Ahh, I seem to have got it working now (I hope!)
I uninstalled/cleaned everything from scratch again, then reinstalled ImageEn 4.1.0 but this time did NOT choose the "register components in Delphi) option. Then I manually copied all the files into a single folder and installed manually from there.
I did try copying all the files into a single folder earlier but it didn't work for some reason (maybe because I had chosen the register option during install?), but now it installed OK and also the PNG seems to be working finally. I will test it over the next few days to see if everything is working as it should again. |
