Nigel, I think this improvement would be very useful:

On each new version, create a new sub-folder in the Demos folder, for example:

New in 8.6.0
New in 8.7.0
...etc.

This would allow to quickly and exactly try out the features which are new in the current version in a demo.

What do you think?

Hi

The Demos folder contains nearly 2000 files, the vast majority of each do not update with each release, so I'm reluctant to create a huge number of duplicate files.

But you're right that it is not easy for users to see what's new in a release and try out the new features.

What I will do from the coming release onward, is add a "Demo Changes" item to history so users know which demos to go to.
