I've been meaning to ask about this for a long time, but my notes got buried. I've been trying to add Device viewing to my implementation of the File Explorer demo program, without success.
My phone is Moto X4, Android 9. Computer is fully updated Win 10 and ImageEn 10.3.
The File Transfer setting shown, works with Win 10 and I can navigate the phone like it is a thumb drive. This setting gives nothing in the device browser demo.
If I change to PTP, the device browser demo does show an icon for the phone:
I've tried the other available settings without any benefit. I've also checked the forum and only found one reference to a problem with a Galaxy S6 which was solved by using its screen like the USB preferences screen in my phone.
My old Nexus 5x with Android 8.1 acts the same as described here.
