I have a Fujitsu Scanner identified as PaperStream IP fi-8170 3.10 (32-32). The scanner enters power-saving mode when not used for some time. It will automatically turn off after a more extended period.

There are two issues we see:

1) If the scanner has turned itself off, it does not appear in the select source dialog. But, an older scanner that is no longer present does show up.

2) After turning on the scanner, it is listed in the select source dialog. But when the acquire starts, the message "Scanner control software detected error.(-4433)" is displayed. I believe this is the same message that is displayed if it has gone into power-saving mode.

Either way, the operator must exit the program to resolve the issue.

What can be done so the operator does not have to exit the program?

Hi Sidney

How about if you refresh the Twain status before displaying the Select Source dialog?
