I am working on an application that saves scanned documents as a 1-bit tif file. One-bit seems necessary in order to use it with the old Turbopower AdFaxViewer.

Does anyone know of any filters that can be applied to improve the text quality a little bit?

Does anyone know if the Turbopower AdFaxViewer can use any tifs with greater pixel format than 1-bit?

Thanks

William Miller

Interpolation filters produce 8 bit gray scale images (from 1 bit to 8 bit), and anyway they work only subsampling or upsampling the original image (ie. Resample method).
I do not know the existence of a filter "1 bit" to "1 bit" which improve the text quality.
