GrayScale is available via ImageEnView1.Proc.ConvertToGray();

Grayscale, binarization, and corrosion are all difficult to obtain.

Hi

That might be difficult because of the inconsistent noise in the image. You could try thresholding the image to isolate the white region. If that works you can calculate its area:
