I'm not asking you guys to do the research for me here, but can you comment on the possibility of ImageEn (Delphi version, not .NET) being used for a Windows 10 UWP app? Obviously, it would not integrate into a Visual Studio 2015/2017 project, so it would have to be integrated using Microsoft's Desktop Bridge. (We've had extreme difficulty even trying to get the Desktop App Converter to run in Windows 10 at all).
And, as an add-on, if the Desktop Bridge were possible with ImageEn, would it also be possible to use ImageMagick? Thanks for any thoughts here. |

OK, so I have written an app for the Microsoft store which includes ImageEn:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/store/p/maillist-king/9nblggh40jtg
So it is definitely possible, and though I did not include the ImageMagick DLL, I see no reason for it to be a problem.
By memory, using the Desktop App Converter had a number of gotchas, but Microsoft assigns you a contact who is helpful at resolving the inevitable issues you will have.
I really should have blogged about it at the time, because it was actually quite a process and I struggle to remember the details now.

Thanks, we'll see what happens then. I'm also going to see if we can get ImageMagick to work, since we've built it from source in VS2010 and have some level of control.
I just set up base image WIM 15063 and Windows 10 ISO 15063 and actually ran the DAC successfully for the first time today. Perhaps I'll keep a log this time and post at some future date if we're successful with ImageEn and ImageMagick. I considered posting my previous logs from failed attempts and gotchas with DAC, but they're so full of sarcasm that I'll need time to sanitize.
Also, I don't know what counselor you received, but when we tried to contact MS Desktop Bridge support, they wanted $500 for a single consultation or some kind of "value" pack for $2000 for 5 consultations... |
